Hopefully it's this easy fix! I'm sure you're doing fine with the heatsink, though! Don't reseat it again. Just focuses on the important CPU temps we are worried about, however that's up to you!ĬPU-ID will also more easily tell us the voltage we are looking for, but I have a feeling your VCore is WAY too high! So, it might just be that the motherboard is pumping tons of excess voltage into your CPU, thus causing tons of extra heat, and that's why you're seeing this problem. Use RealTemp too! I find it easier to read, doesn't give all the extra information Hardware Monitor and the like give. If anything, you might want to set your VCore to 1.2v and run a stability test like what is in my overclocking thread and see if that is enough voltage, but more importantly, see what your max temperatures are.

I'll be waiting on your reply with the information tomorrow OP, but it will be my birthday, so I might not be around, however I'm sure other computer forum regulars will be around to help out too! I am not really sure if the 6600k runs hotter or cooler than the 4690k though.Įdit: For reference sake, my 4690k while idle is sitting at 35-38C, nowhere near 60C. I am not sure what is wrong, but it certainly seems something is, especially since his next post says no OCing at all. I have the same cooler, though the 4690k, and even under stress tests, I don't get that hot, with a decent OC.

Overclocking yourself requires you to tweak the voltage and multiplier. That still seems really high. However, I'd hope your voltages fall in line more with these folks.ĭid you just press an OC Button or did you actually overclock yourself? An OC button could be on your motherboard, in your BIOS, etc. I'd like to see the entire info about your CPU, and instead of what you're using, please use CPU-ID. If anything I'm wondering why you opted for the older Noctua NH-D14, unless you carried it over from a previous build prior to the D15 coming out? Well, in the screenshot, your temps are barely reaching 60 Celsius on most of the cores.Īnd you say you get 78 Celsius in WoW. I can run everything without any problem, GTA5, the Division, The Witcher, all games and Stress Tests without BSOD.Ĭhips may differ, set your vcore to 1.25 or reinstall your drivers.Īlso, make sure your MB has the lasted BIOS installed" I have the same processor and the same mb you have, and i already set vcore to 1.2 at bios. (asked asus support and they replyed me this) Intel dont set a default vcore for this new family and MB manufactures are "overvolting" all processor to make sure they can run without problem. I did a quick search and apprently the voltage is set like that by the motherboard? not sure how legit this is but:
#Good temp for cpu stress test 6700k driver
I havent overclocked or touched any settings what so ever, i simply installed the motherboard driver, ssd driver, gpu driver and wow/league. Ill get the info you're asking for tomorrow when im on the computer, as for overclocking, no i said i wanted to, but i havent touched anything as of yet due to my temps being dodgy. The noctua cooler is from a previous build. The temps are barely reaching 60c, Correct, because that was without any streaming and no wow, if i was to play wow, it goes higher and if i was to stream wow or league it would reach 70c+. Is my Voltage a problem? I haven't touched it but i'm sure its higher than it's meant to be for stock? I've used Noctua nt-h1 as the thermal paste, i've also got a picture of HWMonitor after a few games of league w/o streaming. My case is a corsair 300r and i have the airflow going out the back and up the top of the case, the CPU cooler is pointed towards the back of the case / exhaust fan. Temps seem like they're okay, hovering low 40s, but then they just spike (streaming = hovering around 60s, with high 70 spikes) Playing league of legends was also around high 70s. 78c playing wow at 60fps (vync) + streaming. very spikey/high, i've reapplied thermal paste THREE times and it's always the same, i've used the Pea method every time for applying the themal paste.īy high temps i'm talking. I installed my I7 and i've noticed my temps are. Hey so recently i upgraded and got myself an I7 6700k with the intention of overclocking (for the first time ever) however i wanted to make sure everything was stable first, my main games are WoW and League of Legends whilst streaming/recording here and there.
